Team changing

If a GM wishes to change the associated team, this must be requested from the league management written and with reasons. Basically, there should be no disadvantage for the GEHL. I.e. a move to a poorly or similarly situated franchise will be approved rather than a move to an easily communicable team such as the current cup defender.

There is therefore no fundamental right to change teams.

Furthermore, a team change can only take place at the end of the season, i.e. after the playoffs (or, if not qualified, after the end of the regular season) and before the free agent period. It is important to ensure that the contracts that would expire have been reacted to in advance within the franchise that is being handed in.

There is no fundamental trade lock with regard to the abandoned team. That's because this team is either placed under CPU control or control of the league management or at best handed over to a new GM whose trades are protected by TradeCom. Should the abandoned team also be reassigned due to a team change, the league management reserves the right to impose a temporary trade ban between the teams involved.
