Roster management & tactics

Reserve list

The limits of 50 players under contract or 80 players on the reserve list (players under contract + player rights) must be observed at all times (visible in the EHM under "Roster" >> "View" >> "Reserve List" ).

Failing to comply leads to the ongoing simulation being aborted by the EHM and the league management will intervene as follows:

  1. Issue a warning to the GM concerned
  2. Adjust the line-up taking into account the Salary Cap
  3. Ban the player with the most ice-time (one game per violation)

Lineup

You must have a minimum of 18 field players and 2 goalies in the NHL roster under contract at all times. All teams must have 20 players dressed and playing over the entire season.

It is also strictly forbidden to line up a player two times in the same line (depending on the roster composition and / or use of the 4th defensive line, lineups in different lines are permitted). In such a case, the simulation will be repeated.

It is at the discretion of the GMs to report such a violation to the league management. If the league management discovers during the season that your team is not playing according to these rules, the league management will intervene as follows:

  1. Issue a warning to the GM concerned
  2. Adjust the line-up taking into account the Salary Cap
  3. Ban the player with the most ice-time (one game per violation)
  4. Put the team back under league management control and dismiss the GM until another application.

Tips to avoid the scenario above:

  1. Make sure you have enough players in your pro roster, especially if there are injuries.
  2. Use of Forwards and Defenders - Try not to set "Just Two" or "Just Three" in the tactics if possible. Even "overload" is not permanently recommended.
  3. In addition to line up the individual players, it is important to ensure that each player actually plays in a row.

Exceptions

Injuries or suspension during a simulation - If a player is injured or suspended and his team has to play several games within the same simulation, there is no possibility for the GM to intervene accordingly.

Justified absence - If the GM can reasonably justify that he had no chance to intervene between the simulations, a warning may be dispensed with in individual cases.

Playoffs

If a team does not follow these instructions in two games of a playoff series, their player with the most ice-time will be banned for two games. Player bans can be carried over to the next playoff series and / or the regular season. The next violation by the same team will result in the league management correcting the line-up at its own discretion and banning the GM's access to a playoff game.

If the violation described above occurs during a game in the Stanley Cup Finals, the game will be re-simulated (regardless of the outcome of the game).

Goalie limits

There is currently no limit to the goalie times.

Tactics

The use of Overload, Just Two and Just Three tactics is prohibited. Otherwise tactics can be adjusted tactics as wished. This should make the league and the competition more balanced. Although we understand that you want to roll your best players - there are still 20 players dressed, 19 of whom should play.

This rule applies to all regular season games and the playoffs.
